Membership, The Essential Puzzle Pieces

Fellowship: People become Grangers because they want to have contact with other people.

Service: People become Grangers to express their charitable intents.

Leadership: People become Grangers because they want to belong to a prestigious organization that is well led and capable of making difference.

Community: People become Grangers because they want to feel good about involvement with their family and in the community.

Membership Tools

The Membership Department developed these tools that are available from the Co-Directors or Oregon State Grange office.

Banners

Three 8 x 2 1/2 foot membership banners promote the Oregon State Grange. They feature the four puzzle pieces and can be hung or used as an apron on an 8’ table. When borrowed, they must be returned promptly.

Brochures

These Oregon State Grange membership brochures are available through the Oregon State Grange office.

Membership Contest

Prizes are awarded for gains in the previous calendar year:

Highest % gain   $100
Second highest % gain               $75
Third highest % gain    $50
Fourth Highest % gain $25
All Granges with a 15% gain or more qualify for a drawing for $20.

Digital Slide Show

We encourage Granges to create a slide show that contains pictures of events your Grange participated in throughout the calendar year. This is a great tool for an Open House. If set to music, the slides can be very entertaining. A slide show is a great way to educate the public about your Subordinate/Community Grange.

Membership Tip of the Month

We send out membership tips by e-mail to our district chairs, who send them on to an email list. If you are not receiving them and want to, contact one of the chairs in your district and ask to be added to their e-mail list. This are example Tips of the Month from the National Leadership/Member Director:

Membership Dinner

On Tuesday of state session, the Membership Department puts on the Membership Dinner, a must attend event! Granges that have had a membership gain in the calendar year are recognized.
